Dylan is the Founder of one of Australia’s most successful e-commerce start up’s of all time, Happy Skin Co. Launching into April 2018, Happy Skin Co took the billion dollar laser hair removal industry by storm by releasing their game-changing at-home IPL hair removal handset, turning over an incredible $12.5 Million in their first 12 months of trading.

The Happy Skin Co Timeline

Pre-Launch

Dylan was working in a corporate 9-5 job that he hated but was laser focused on the path out. Most weeknights Dylan would spend 7pm-12am + a large chunk of his weekends building Happy Skin Co.

Day 3 After Launch

After doing only one sale on their launch day and zero the day after, their third day brought with it their first influencer post. They went live at 7:30pm and Happy Skin Co did close to $5.5k in revenue between then & midnight. (This coming from someone who used to make less than $1k per week after tax).

First $1 Million

Only 3.5 months in and Happy Skin Co does its first million in revenue. A tactical but aggressive influencer marketing campaign and an ever growing understanding of Facebook ads contribute to hitting this milestone so quickly.

Scaling

Q4, 2018 brings new learnings and with them far greater growth numbers. It’s at this point Happy Skin Co cracks the code to Facebook ads and achieving mass scale. From this point on $100k + days are becoming more and more frequent.

$12.5 Million

In their first full year of business, Happy Skin Co generates a massive $12.5 Million in revenue. International expansion, new product lines and a deeper understanding of advertising channels set the brand up to truly dominate the at-home hair removal space.

2023 Onwards

While e-commerce will always be at it’s core, today Happy Skin Co has been able to achieve significant retail growth by partnering with some of the largest retailers throughout the world. Outside of his work with Happy Skin Co and his other businesses, Dylan is frequently invited to speak at events and on podcasts in the e-commerce & entrepreneurship space.

From Humble Beginnings

After his family immigrated from Northern Ireland to escape The Troubles, it meant starting life in Australia with very little. Coming from a working class family Dylan grew up very lower-middle class. There are obviously people around the world that started with a lot less than Dylan but the point is, regardless of your starting point and whether or not you’ve grown up with any direct mentors in your life, you can dream bigger and aim higher than where you started.
